Sizzlin Summer Series: June 24, July 22, August 26 “Getting to Heaven by Going through Hell”

Join us this summer for delicious food, inspiring worship, and hear a truly amazing, miraculous real-life story! Based on Dr. Scot Hodkiewicz’s newly published book “Getting to Heaven by Going through Hell” the three-part series will take you on a “journey from the top of the mountain to the depths of hell—and ultimately to discover heaven here on earth.” Mark your calendars and join us on Wednesdays June 24th, July 22nd, and August 26th at 5:30PM for Potluck Dinner—followed by Informal Worship at 6:15PM! Worship will include music, powerful presentations from Dr. Scot, children’s and teen programs, and time for discussion. We are honored that Dr. Scot will share his personal story of pain, addiction, tragedy, anger, hatred, forgiveness, and ultimately salvation in God!

This inspirational series is intended for the entire family, your friends, coworkers, and is open to the community. Join us as we unite and come together around God’s Word, share a meal and worship, and talk about what God is teaching us today, here and now! ALL are welcome!

“If you want to hear God laugh, just tell him your plan.” Dr. Scot Hodkiewicz was happily living the American Dream, having followed his own Great Plan to the letter… Step One: Become a vet. Step Two: Get a good job. Step Three: Get married and start a family. But as he would discover, as he drove down the interstate one October day with his wife and three young children, God had an even greater plan for his life. Left with a mangled body and a broken spirit in the aftermath of a head-on collision with a drunk driver, Dr. Scot entered his own personal hell of pain, addiction, and potential tragedy. Initially filled with anger, hatred and self-pity, he would come to understand the power of forgiveness and that his struggles were ultimately the path to his salvation. God’s plan for him was so much more than he could ever imagine. By going through his hell, he found angels to guide him everywhere, and he discovered that heaven is not something we find after death; it can be found right here on Earth. We only have to listen. Join Dr. Scot on this miraculous journey of Getting to Heaven by Going through Hell.

Read this book! This inspiring story is one you won’t want to put down. Scot does an amazing job relating his personal tragedy in a way that everyone who reads it can’t help but reflect on how they should deal with struggles and challenges in their own life. This book is one that will stay with you long after you’ve put it on the shelf.

Amazing story about an amazing Man! I read it cover to cover, only putting it down to eat. I met Dr Scot last year when he performed several lifesaving surgeries on our kitten Milo at his practice in Lake Geneva. Through his treatment he had many setbacks and several trips to the clinic and Dr Scot gave us discounts without us ever asking and even came in on his day off to see Milo and provided some of his services that day for free. He is truly a remarkable man with integrity and heart. I had no idea that anything like this had ever happened to him. I am so grateful to have met such a kind soul. The world needs more of them. Amazing book and a natural writer. Thank you for sharing your story.

The Best is Yet to Come! My interest was captured the first page in and grew with intensity as i continued to read. I could actually feel in my heart and mind everything that Scott and Mona went through each day after the accident. It was beyond heart wrenching and awesomely inspiring. It displays the great strength and compassion of Our Heavenly Father as we struggle through life’s hardest difficulties. Thank you for this wonderful book of hope. I plan on reading it a second time.

I loved and respected Scot and Mona from Veterinary Medical School! I bought this book because I knew, loved and respected Scot and Mona from Veterinary Medical School, and also knew some of this story. I had no idea how well Scot could write, however. It’s compelling, wry, and inspirational. I highly recommend it.
