See the inspiring story of Immanuel Lutheran Church produced by the Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA! God called Pastor Mary Ann to Immanuel in 1995 and it was a dying congregation; missing generations. God blesses faithful, modest efforts though and Immanuel grew consistently down through the years. A growing congregation meant that we were running out of space and usable area for Sunday school, classrooms, worship, parking, and more. We needed to build, didn’t exactly know how; but recognized people who could help—the Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA. We collaborated with MIF from the start of finding the land, from the design to the construction, to the funding, to the mortgage and MIF was with us every step of the way. Our families as well as our congregation have invested money in MIF which allows new church’s to be built so that God’s work can be spread. As we launch the All Hands On Deck! Phase 2 Appeal with thank God that we could borrow money from MIF knowing that the interest we pay helps fund the loans of other ELCA congregations, so that they can share God’s love, too. See here:
